Ljunghusen Golf Club
Ljunghusen has been described as "the only true links course in Sweden" and according to Golf Digest is in the Top 3 golf courses in Sweden and also in the Top 100 European courses. While standing on the fairways of Ljunghusen you might think to yourself that you were playing on a links in Ireland or Scotland with the wind blowing off the Baltic sea and as the course contains hardly any trees it offers you no where to hide from the wind. The other major hurdle you have to cross is the fact that Ljunghusen means "The Heather Houses" so if the wind doesn't catch you the heather surely will. Don't try to be a hero while playing from the heather, just hack it back on to the fairway and hope to save par. Oh have I mentioned the 80 or so bunkers & 12 water hazards that the course also contains. All of these ingredients are what put Ljunghusen in the top 3 courses in Sweden. The course is situated in the middle of Skanörs Nature Reserve Park with it's protected marshland and it's views across the Baltic sea. You will come away from ljunghusen having used every club in your bag and every ounce of golfing ability in your body.
